Everything to know before sitting DELE A2, from paper structure to a week-by-week revision plan.
DELE is the official Spanish proficiency certificate issued by the Instituto Cervantes, and it never expires.
The DELE A2 format
Four papers: reading (60 minutes), listening (35), writing (45) and speaking (15).
How the pass mark works
You need at least 30 out of 50 in Group 1 (reading and writing) and at least 30 out of 50 in Group 2 (listening and speaking). A strong overall total does not rescue a failed group.
Where candidates lose marks
Thai candidates typically score well on reading but lose marks in written expression by ignoring the required format — most often by omitting the opening and closing formulas of a letter.
An eight-week plan
Weeks 1–2: revise all A1 grammar. Weeks 3–4: past tenses and connectors. Weeks 5–6: write to the exam format. Weeks 7–8: timed mock papers.
